1. About SwadeshiScan

SwadeshiScan is a mobile application developed and published by Dimension64 Consulting Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. SwadeshiScan helps Indian consumers identify the ownership and origin of products they purchase. By scanning a product or typing a product name, users can learn whether it is Indian-owned and discover Indian alternatives.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the SwadeshiScan mobile application ("App") available on Google Play (package: com.nuindai.app).

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

• Phone number: Used for OTP-based authentication. Your phone number is used to create and secure your SwadeshiScan account.
• Name: Optional display name you may provide in your profile.
• Email: Optional, used for support communication and receipts.

2.2 Product Scan Data

• Product images: Photos you take using the camera are sent to our AI service (Claude by Anthropic) for product identification. Images are stored on Cloudinary CDN to display in your scan history. You can request deletion at any time.
• Typed product names: Text you enter for product lookup is sent to our AI service for identification.
• Scan results: Product name, company, ownership percentage, and origin data are stored to provide your scan history within the App.

2.3 Device Information

• Device type and OS version: Collected for app compatibility and debugging purposes.
• App version: Recorded to ensure you have the latest features and fixes.

2.4 Payment Information

• Subscription and donation payments: All payments are processed securely through Razorpay. SwadeshiScan does not store your credit/debit card or UPI details. Only payment confirmation IDs and order references are stored for transaction records and receipts.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your SwadeshiScan account and provide personalized scan history
• To identify products using AI-powered image and text analysis
• To show you Indian ownership data and alternative product suggestions
• To process payments for premium scan credits and support initiative donations
• To send OTP verification messages via SMS
• To improve our product database and AI accuracy
• To send important service-related notifications about SwadeshiScan
• To generate donation receipts and maintain payment records

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties.

We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate SwadeshiScan:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Product images and text are sent for AI analysis. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase (Google): Used for push notification services. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Razorpay: For payment processing. Subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudinary: Product scan images are stored on Cloudinary's CDN for display in scan history. Subject to Cloudinary's Privacy Policy.
• Google Cloud Platform: SwadeshiScan's backend servers are hosted on Google Cloud in Mumbai, India (asia-south1 region).
• 2Factor.in: Used to deliver OTP SMS verification messages.

5. Camera Permission

SwadeshiScan requests camera access to scan product barcodes and packaging. The camera is used only for capturing product images at your explicit request (when you tap the scan button). We do not access your camera in the background or for any other purpose.

6. Location Permission

SwadeshiScan may request approximate location to show region-specific Indian product alternatives. Location data is not stored on our servers and is used only during the active scan session.

7. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in India (Mumbai, Google Cloud asia-south1)
• All data transmission between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
• Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using industry-standard practices
• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information
• Payment data is handled exclusively by Razorpay and is not stored on SwadeshiScan servers

8. Your Rights

As a SwadeshiScan user, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data and scan history within the App
• Delete your account and all associated data via our account deletion page or by contacting us at d64cpl@gmail.com
• Opt out of non-essential communications
• Request a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate personal information in your profile

9. Data Retention

• Account data is retained as long as your SwadeshiScan account is active
• Scan history is retained for your reference and can be deleted upon request
• Product images on Cloudinary are retained until you delete your account or request removal
• Payment records are retained as required by Indian tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years)
• Upon account deletion, personal data is permanently removed within 30 days

10. Children's Privacy

SwadeshiScan is an educational app safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Our student access program operates within educational institutions under teacher and parent supervision. If you believe a child has provided personal information without parental consent, contact us at d64cpl@gmail.com.

11. Changes to This Policy

Dimension64 Consulting Private Limited may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above and through an in-app notification within SwadeshiScan.

12. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
